im sure were all coin magicians here. what are your alternative to coins sometimes maybe in a comedy piece of walkaround. Buttons, papers, the angels on bikes,bottle caps?? I often use this set I made of crushed bottle caps. the kind jay sankey uses. I have a set of those.

Washers could work. As well as Vanilla Wafers and Cheez- Its.

Bottle Caps work great, especially for palming. Poker chips work great, washers like adjones said.

I pretty much just use coins except for specific routines. At school i've used gatorade bottle caps for a chink-a-chink routine, and a few times at lunch I've used cheez-itz for gregory wilsons quick silver routine minus the coin (or cheez-it) under watch phase. It worked quite well.

actually ritz crackers work extremely well. During lunch a friend asked me to do the muscle pass with something besides a coin; I stole his cracker and did the pass. When he asked me to do it again I did but I made it land in my mouth and had a snack

I once did a retention vanish with one of those sandwhich crackers that killed. I'm not sure why. I guess my timing was really good. I just vanished it did a little hand washing thing and then reached inside my lunch bag and pulled it out and they loved it.

Chocolate chips cookies, some of them are pretty small so you can palm them and everything...

beer bottle caps work well.

I have seen dice used in Chink-a-Chink routines. Plus, one magician I know, has been working on a Spellbound routine using different colored polished rocks. You can get a small bag of polished rocks at the Dollar Store.

I have been thinking more and more about using bottle caps.

I have in my mind, a chink a chink routine with them, a spellbound routine with them and a 3 fly with them. Things are coming along great with the chink a chink, but not with the other two.

now I need to go find some plastic half dollar sized cookies for my coin tricks...
