Blaine's awesome, I hope this special is on tv. Sure he isn't like a Burton, McBride, Cardini, or any other legend in magic, but he is decently skilled and I like his presentation. I really like Blaine though because he made magic on tv "real" again. People used to watch magic on tv and think every single illusion was a camera trick, as I did, but then Blaine came along and you knew it was not camera trickery. Now Angel sadly is bringing people back to thinking its all just camera trickery because with him it is. :cry:

I just looked at the link, so this means Blaine is doing another special Sept. 24th on ABC right?!

I hope so really really really bad! I want some other magician on television other than Angel sooooooooooo badly!

This must be why Angel was mocking him on Mindfreak.... I wonder hmm.

Yes- I miss the days where David Blaine was all the rave, and Criss Angel was nothing. Now it's like the opposite- I hope these specials bring back all the David Blaine hype... plus I love seeing some good quality magic on T.V.- can't wait to watch!

I think it would be good if they're were two magicians on TV all the time. I'll be watching this one.

I am a Blaine fan but not for the endurance stuff, sure it's impressive but I would really prefer he returned to his close up "Street Magic". I am sure there will be some good illusions of the special to fill up the special..

I don't know about illusions, but there will be some card stuff.

Most of the people who don't care are Criss Angel loyals, Which most of us call noob's. Just read some of the comments some of the people are saying when they say that they don't care. they are criss angel loyals.

Also....I called Jonny Podell, who was Blaine's manager a few years ago, and according to him, Blaine was paid a little over 1 million for his Frozen in Time stunt.

Does he really need to? Lol. Actually, he DOES. He makes profits from his merchandise, such as his autographed posters, his DVD (Fearless), his book, and his "Split Spades" decks of cards. He doesn't do any consulting, and as far as I know, he doesn't do lectures.

In my understanding, illusions are the big things like making a lady appear, a car disappear, etc.

An illusion is anything your eyes or brain interprets to be one thing while in reality it's another. A simple card trick as a DL could "technically" be called an illusion. however, for the most part, you're correct...When the term illusion is used, typically, a large scale effect is being referenced.

If you're talking to me...Yes. I started out doing kid's shows. Did them for a number of years...Still do them on very special occassions...3 or 4 times a year, maybe.
