Hi. I recently bought an expanded shell and after a day of use a coin got stuck in the shell! So are there any techniques for removing a stuck coin from a shell? And I would put this in the penguins only forum but I didn't get it

I use a needle. Stick it between the outer edge of the real coin and the inner edge of the shell, and just pry it out. This also works great if your flipper coin gets stuck.

Hmm...

What kind of coin is it?

How long have you had the shell?

How "harshly" do you handle it?

With expanded shells, you sometimes have to be carefull with the coin you're sticking in it. If the coin is beat up, there may be a nick protruding from the edge which may cause it to be stuck.

Put it into a glass and start shaking. If that doesn't work, I suggest putting it on the top of a bang ring, it won't fit inside, and well, bang. Bang real hard.

What's wierd is one time I got a half dollar stuck in my expanded shell and I thought the shell opening was bent in so I bent it out and got the coin out. Then my shell opening was bent out and the rest of it was round. I bent the edge back to how it was before and other half dollars came out of it but the original one didn't. I don't know why but that half dollar was wider than normal ones. :?

This is a tango and the shell never got bent without it being my fault.

Back on topic....

Here's something I haven't tried but it should work scientifically--

Soak your shell in some very hot water. It should make the metal expand, right?

I have tried that by putting it in some tin foil in a convection oven but I will try heating it for longer
