Are you able to put a magic dvd on an ipod video since in general magic dvds have a chapter by chapter type of format? thanks in advance!

You can, but you'd have to illegally remove it from the DVD. I suggest not to.

Even movies are in "Chapter" format. I don't see magic vids as being any different.

It isn't illegal to rip the DVDs that you paid for and put them on your iPod. You can use a program called Handbrake to do it. There is a Mac and Windows version.

I use Movavi to rip my DVDs all the time. I do this so I can watch my videos on my iPod while I am travelling.

I usually burn chapters of Magic Training DVDs that I am presently studying. (I cannot see how this is illegal since I paid for the use of the media and viewing it myself; I am not redistributing it).

I think that this is a great idea. This will allow you to travel, and at the same time study the art of magic. I think it is a good way to add to practice.

What I did a while back was download an app called "files" on my ipod. This app can support dvd's and ebooks aswell.

1) Well done, desertfish, for using your first and only post to resurrect a thread from two years ago.

2) Ayli is right: the best software is HandBrake. No other solution comes even close to this.

3) Bypassing the copy protection on DVDs is not illegal (it was added as an exemption to the US copyright act) as long as the purpose of the copy is limited to personal home use.
