So, I finally get to perform with pay. There is a woman that has a granddaughter with leukemia (who is 4) and I will also be performing for a 2 year old (everything is magic to them), and possibly a 7 and 9 year old. Since I'm really trying to make the 4 year old happy, card tricks (Unless amazingly visual) don't seem like a great idea. Sponge balls seem very good, and I'm definitely going to do some of that. In a couple days I get Darwins TT encyclopedia and In the beginning there were coins, TT stuff is probably great, is coin magic good for kids? Also, I might get extreme burn for the holidays, does that work well to do color changing paper? Also, would coin squeeze be good? If theres anything else someone would suggest I could get at a local magic shop, that would be awesome.

Forewarning, be prepared for people to tell you not to do this show. From the sounds of it, you are way above your head. You don't have the effects you are planning to do, which means you can't possible be prepared.

You simply do not have enough time to receive, practice, and rehearse all of these effects. The most likely outcome is that you will disappoint this 4 year old, as well as the whole family. Especially since you don't seem to understand anything about children magic.

As for the statement that to two year's old, nothing you will do is magic for them. My fiance has a two year old sister, and she doesn't care about any magic that I do. Two year olds simply don't care.

two year olds will only sit for magic if they are with their moms/teacher and with a lot of the older children 3s and 4s. The youngest birthday I have ever done was for a three year old but he had all his family and friends from preschool there. I usually start at 4.
With the effects you have listed it doesn’t seem that you even want to be a children’s entertainer or else you would be investing your time and money more wisely. If this is the case please don’t ruin peoples expectations of children’s/family performers.
