Years ago when banks actually relied on tellers and gave you a bank book (passbook) they would put them in these cheesy clear plastic sleeves that always seemed to have an oily finish on them. The finish wore off of the outside from wear but was always on the inside. Removing my bank book, I used to put a piece of black vinyl underneath a 24 lb. bond piece of paper in the sleeve. I would have someone write something on another piece of paper and just happen to give them my bank book sleeve to write on for support (black vinyl side down). They would hand it back to me and as I pocketed the sleeve, glance at the black vinyl side which would have a reversed impression.

Just thought I'd share this from the old days. Don't know if this can be done with what's available today.

I very nice and sneaky application of an otherwise harmless pice of equipment, i'm not aware of banks giving out anything like that now but I'm sure the idea could be applied to something else which could be carried around without raising suspicion.

i recently purchased universal impression here at penguin. it is an amazing gimmick that allows one to modify several items around the house ( books, notepads, card cases, etc.) and it works very well. also, one doesnt have to buy expensive gimmick refills. the dvd goes in depth on how to make your own for a few bucks.( once every 100 uses) completly practical in the real world and the dvd provided is a wonderful tool to see how it is actually used. i have worked with several wallets, impressions, peeks, and tears, and this is my favorite. simple and direct. also has a great routines for different effects!
