Any Recommended Literature?

Hello,

I have been reading through pages of this forum, but I am interested in getting into children's magic. Are there any good books that people recommend starting with? Thanks in advance

Kid Biz and Seriously Silly by David Kaye are your two best bets.

Seriously Silly is a great book on Children Magic. However, I recommend getting Professional Magic for Children by David Ginn before purchasing Kidbiz by Ginn.

I don't have Kidbiz yet, though I plan on getting it, but I heard it is like a sequel to Prof. Magic for Children. David Ginn is a really excellent source on Kid's Magic. Can't really go wrong with him.

I agree with those that mentioned Seriously Silly. It is a fantastic book.

I own a bunch of David Ginn's books...they are wonderful...I prefer them over Silly Billy's.

I used to watch Ginn every year as a child...and loved it. He and his books are what helped me when I was learning how to entertain children.

Silly Billy is okay, not my top three.
Ginn's stuff is always good.
Sammy Smith has some good stuff.
Of course "The birthday party business" book is my best.

It's nice to see that you are wanting to FIRST learn how to do a good kid show and THEN go out and get some business. You will be far more confident doing a show when you first put in the time to learn how to do it beforehand.
A lot of people feels that kidshows are a piece of cake, goes out and does a show "bombs" and now their reputation is done.
Take in several books and DVDS then put your show together and we'll help all we can to get you out there making big cash and having fun doing it.
Making a quality product is long hard work but it's also rewarding.
"break a leg!"
