I will likely always compare all other magicians to Doug Henning. He was the consumate performer, he was original yet knew his magic history and borrowed from it when it worked for him. I was lucky enough to have seen all his TV specials live when they aired and I saw him perform in person at the Salem State Theatre here in MA in the late 70s. He just had a charisma and a twinkle in his eye that made you suspend your disbelief for a while and believe in magic.

Doug's was the first large stage show I saw. Blew me away!! His dancing hank may have been the best ever!!

I seen him on T.V. alot when I was a kid. I have to say him and Mark Wilson was why I got into Magic.

Doug was awesome there's a lot of good youtube stuff on him like the muppet show episode with the dancing hanky..
