Hey everyone. I'm working on developing my own stage routine (don't worry, I don't have a show coming up or something, I just want to start developing it for the future) and I was wondering if anyone would recommend using Andrew Mayne's Razorwire as a finale?

Thanks,
Tony

I don't know if I would recommend it as a finale. I guess it could work, depending on how you organize your show. For me, whenever I've done it (which really isn't often, as I like packing everything in a small case when I do a magic show), I've always done it more in the middle of the show. But if you routine right, it could make an interesting finale.

Hello
I used razerwire in a live stage show.
The reactions were 50/50. It's ok for kids, but not the mature audience.
It's super easy to figure out. However, it is a great starter illusion for the amatuer performer, like most of Mayne's creations.

I rarely perform for kids anymore, meaning that when I've done this effect, it has been for adults. If presented correctly, it will be good reactions. Especially if you sell the idea that you are walking through razor wire. With the presentation, adults are very interested in it.

The question to me is this,

Do you feel like it's your strongest stage effect?

Always end with your strongest effect, it's what people will remember most. You are the only one who really knows. Maybe if you have a super cool presentation, it's what you need for your big finish.

People remember your opening trick 2nd most, so it should be one of your stongest too.

Good luck

Ted
