A lot of times people will tell me to do a trick again but many times the tricks are not repeatable. What should I do?

LEarn some audience control and keep moving onto the next trick. Dont give them a chance... just keep on performing.

If your doing a one trick act... then as said above, say no.

Have you ever thought about learning a second trick which you could do as an encore?

If I say no then the spectators will question why you can't and it won't seem as magical to them.

check out the one liners section. Also, one of the reasons they are questioning you is because you are not controlling your audience well enough. If you tell them no, you have to take a firm stance, who cares if they don't think you're magical? You just gave them proof and they want to review the proof? How logical is that? Like others have said, show them something else, its often a better solution than showing them nothing.

Not if you give a good reason. Ther are ways out, you just need to learn them. Do as bucky suggested and look into one liners.
I tell people no all the time... but I dont actually say "no" as there are other ways to say "no". Yo just need to find what works best for you.

But the best way is to transition and move on. Least thats my opnion.

The method I use is just say ok.

But not like you guys think.

I say alright and use a different method to do the same effect.

The way I perform for most audiences (if I am not doing a paid gig) is I will just jazz my way through it. I rarely know what all I will do, but I end up doing a lot.

It's fun to do that; I feel it keeps my repitoire fresh and ever changing.

What popchris said is your best out. Even do an effect that starts off the same, and ends differently - kind of like an encore.

buy two of each gimmick. Keep one in your left pants pocket, the second in your right pants pocket.

Now you are set up again to repeat the trick.

or just be prepared with a backup trick

If you have already been performing try "Im kinda boared of doing that one, but I will show you a different one" and go on to a back up trick.

That works for me. I also tend to get several tricks in a similar class. Ie. Pen through dollar, they ask to see it again and you say, "lets try it with a quarter" and go into punctured or cigarette through quarter using the same pen.

Say look, i'v got a better trick. if you have one, great, if not, tell them to close their eyes and listen to the sound of your voice. Say "now i will dissapear" and run as fast as you can.
