I hand made a coin ring when I was in the Army in 1963.
Made it from a silver Quarter. I used the concave shape
of a Mess Hall Spoon and tapped on the edge of the coin
all the way around until the edge 'flared' out over the
center of the coin until it was the width I desired.
Naturally, it takes thousands of taps and a lot of patience !
Then I drilled out the center and filed the inside smooth.
As you might guess the filing takes patience as well !
To my credit it turned out pretty nice and I wore it for
many years. Finally lost it over the years.
This is not a project you'd want to undertake unless you've
got plenty of patience.
Granted, it's not anywhere near as professional as what's
been posted, but it was a nice conversation piece and I got
to brag that I hand made it myself.
