Although he is best known for his comedy I believe this "Wild and crazy guy" belongs here in the penguin hall of fame.

When Steve was growing up he worked in Merlins Magic shop in Disneyland where he learned how to perform and how to properly learn magic. He started introducing comedy into his small magic act and soon moved from the small shop to larger more formal venues. Steve created some great comedy magic effects that make people laugh to this day. Comedy really spiked his career but i feel he has a special place in magic.

For more information you can read Steves bestselling autobiography Born Standing Up.

I'm a huge Steve Martin fan...mainly in part because of how much we have in common...I own all his books, and films. He's one of the few individuals I would absolutely love to meet in my lifetime.

Agree 100% I love Steve Martin. He has a fantastic watch stealing routine he did with Bill Murry on one of the early SnL's. Priceless!

I was a fan years ago but with all due respect he has hit bottom these days. All he does is awful old movie remakes like Pink Panther, father of the bride, etc. At one time he was truly great..

he's still great...he's tired of the movie business though...when he has achieved something, he always moves on to something else and new. Right now he's focused more on music and the banjo...he just released an album a couple months ago full of completely new banjo songs.
