While I am pretty sure I know how he is doing this, I am not certain.

If I am right I could not do it in any of my streets. And therefore, crap trick.

He does it the same way Blaine and Angel do their tricks. It's called camera tricks with a crew of actors as the "audience."

Are you sure of this? Because it certainly looks possible, if not easy, to perform just buy connecting your shoes to the grid he is standing on.

I designed shoes for my dance class once, they were stealth black and had small, nearly invisible (when you consider it was a black stage), hooks that could connect two peoples shoes together at the heel.

I stood back to back with my girlfriend, and simultaneously we did a 50% lean in each direction. We needed to put a small lead weight in her shirt for it to balance out, but the performance was amazing.

And by the way, Jackson does his with shoes that attach to the floor using nails. Personally I class this as magic too, because its pattended as "Anti-gravity lean shoe".

I am not sure if this "Matrix" version is commercially available -or- if it can be performed impromptu. (Through my personal experience, it usually requires preparation and, of course, a gimmick).

No, the matrix is completely do-able. It is more science than magic, w/o revealing anything, but I do know how it is done

I was fortunate to be able to actually try this when a magician friend of mine noticed I was taking great interest in the effect.
All I can say is that it was a painful experience when you haven't practiced/trained to perform it, and definitely isn't for everyone.

I actually came across the website that sells the gimmick. It was actually patented by Michael Jackson. Unfortunately it is $400-500 IIRC. And you cant just perform it anywhere. Definitely not inside anywhere.

I was like wow somebody revolutionized the great coin plot. Disappointed but that was pretty neat!

What you found is the standard "Lean" where you tilt forward. This version doesn't seem to be for sale. Probably home made.

All I can say is ouch. This version looks painful. However to any magician it should seem pretty obvious as to what he's doing.

I think the best bet here is to just make your own gimmick to accomplish this if you want it. But I agree to do it like he did you need that grid he was standing on.
