I have two simple effects I do with scotch and soda, but I'm looking for something more. Let me explain the two effects I do here. I have the mexican penny/american half dollar version, so I'll use those to describe the effect. Anyone who has this effect should be able to follow how it's done by the description.

1) I show the mexican penny and the half dollar. I put all into the spectators hand and have him close it. When he opens it back up he's left with just the half dollar and an american penny.

2) I show the mexican penny and the half dollar in my hands. I move them past each other, over and under each other, and then in front of the spectators eyes they turn into a half dollar and a penny. This effect (of course) ends clean.

What else is there to do this with this effect? I think it's one of the cleanest and best in magic, but I'd like to get even more punch with it.

I think after changing the mexican penny into a quarter, when they ask "where is the mexican penny" you can reply "under your watch" and turn their wrist over to reveal the mexican penny under their watch. Killer effect that blows them away.

One point, it's not a Mexican Penny. It's an English Penny or a Mexican Centavo. Mexico doesn't have a penny.

My bad. However, this performance works very well. You want to be sure the mexican centavo is warm and not cold and there are ways of getting the centavo underneath the spectator's watch without their knowledge, but it takes practice. You also have to look carefully at the watch, make sure it is not too loose or way too tight. You want to have an elegant touch where you don't make a clinking sound either with the watch and get busted.

You should be a teacher in your spare time. No joke.

There is SOOOO much information on this LOL! I think Bobo's modern coin magic might even have some information on this. You can probably find some inspiration from the old works on Dime and Penny too.
