I'm in the market for a wireless headset microphone but I'm not sure what to look for. I perform mentalism so there isn't too much dancing around in my show, just a nice set up thats dependable. I'm looking to spend $200-$300. Basically I'm not sure what is good and what isn't and was hoping someone on here might understand my needs and have a recommendation.

This is how I got my first one. If you go to church, simply ask them what they use, or if you could get the magazine that they ordered it from. They usually carry high quality mics, that are great for entertainment. Plus, there would probably be a discount on them. Just one idea.

Thank you both for the quick replies, that church thing is a great idea. Some of the problem I've been having is not being able to actually look at the mic because I have to order it online, but I can just look at theirs and see if I like it.

I have a tendency to think and type out loud.

You can probably take a look at a countryman at your local Guitar Center (if you have one in your area) If not, check an electronics store. The countryman mic is used by many top working professionals. They make a top quality mic that is reliable, easy to use, and isn't bulky.

He probably asked for a wireless headset because he NEEDS a wireless headset to do his show comfortably. If he wanted a mic, he'd have asked for a mic.

...and expensive, ranging from $200 to around $600 or so. Worth it if your livelyhood depends on it. Not so much if you're a hobbyist.

What was the point, then? The OP obviously knows what he wants, and you didn't add anything to help him.

FYI, I know I didn't add anything to help him, either.

this is true, but he did say he had a $300 budget...I have seen them in some places for that price.

Just remember...it's like anything else...you WILL get what you pay for!...don't cut corners ;)

That's just for the mic with nothing to plug it into. For that, he'll need another $500 or more for a diversity wireless transmitter/receiver.
