What is the thing the spectators in your nighmares say that moves them to a new catagory of heckling. I always fear that a rude magician (you know the kind i'm talking about) will show up at one of my preformances and knowing the tricks, will tell me to do things with them that you can't do, but seem close enough that if what your doing is real, you would be able to do.

My least favorite thing to hear is "I do magic trick, too". Hands down.

I dread a fellow magician in a bad move just ruins the tricks then steals the show with different tricks, because I'm too courteous to reveal anything.

Really, though, it should look easy to do. If your magic looks complicated, there's no real magic happening for them. If it looks easy then it shows that you know what you're doing.

Whenever I get those, which is rare, I get out of them pretty easily... so those dont really bother me.

The "i also know some magic or the 'I know a trick too'" is the most annoying... but i roll with it.

no, it doesn't have to look easy, nor complicated: it should look impossible!
if they say it's easy, they say: "i sure could do that!"

I was listening to some Paul Harris the other day, and he made an interesting point between mastery and wonder. You might do some elaborate coin palming routine or series of intricate card moves, but to the audience it will simply wash over them as "I guess he's just practised that a lot". They'll appreciate the mastery that went into it (hopefully) but not feel any sense of wonder.

I guess this is related: your job isn't to do something difficult, it is to do something impossible. Or very close to it*.

*For example, Out Of This World has a 2.02 x 10^-15 chance of working on its own.

I would LOVE it if I will find out that someone I'm performing to also does magic.
Exodus was talking about those guys who learnt how to use a key card and want to show it off now that they've seen you do color-changing-culligula-deck-vanish

My most DREADED thing is when someone goes,

"Oh, I know how you did that..."

when I KNOW I didn't flash.

So I ALWAYS hand them the cards and say, "Alright, do it!"

They ALWAYS respond, "Well, I don't... Know how to do... It, I just... Know how... To do it... Uh..."
