Greetings everyone,

This is probably old news to a majority of the people who frequent Penguin Forums, or for anyone who has been in the Magic business for many years.
But I just found out that Neil Patrick Harris is a Magician, and also from what I've heard that he performs at the Magic Castle from time to time.

Talk about a mind f*** , I had no idea! So now that I'm aware of this, I'm going to have to surf the web for any material about his performances, what genre of Magic he's into and also what got him started in Magic in the first place.

While I'm trying to find all the information I can, is there anyone here who has seen him perform either at the Magic Castle or some other venue?

Theres a video somewhere on this forum of him performing a prediction on one of the Late shows.

Ah, pardon my ignorance, I was told by both my girlfriend and close friend of mine that he performed on the Jimmy Fallon show. Although until Bucky310 just told me it was on that show, I couldn't remember what show it was he performed for. They just told me, "some show".

Also, I saw him too on the cover of Genii, which made me remember the information I was told.

So thank you for clarifying the issue, I suppose it was just wishful thinking to think he performed magic, or performed at the Magic Castle.

As far as I remember, his first TV magic appearance was during (or shortly after) his show "Doogie Howser." Neil and (I think) Ed Alonzo, dressed as surgeons, sawed a woman in half on the Tonight Show. It used a pretty unique method that defied the "standard" explanations.

See if you can get youself a copy of the Genii back issue that comes with the DVD of NPH performing "Palingenesia." Very cool.

He's also been on the Ellen show. He did the guillotine effect there. Also, if you ever watch How I Met Your Mother, he performs magic on there from time to time, and even has magic posters in his house on the show.

Yeah and it's really funny to boot.

Not only is he a performing magician, on the board at the Magic Castle, but he also recently hosted the 41st Annual Academy of Magical Arts Awards.

Haha, I only just noticed this topic and I'm astonished...call me late but darn, that's wicked.

As a HUGE NPH fan I recently found this out this weekend (when saw an ad for the World Magic Awards and found out he hosted it last year) I think its very cool that he does magic and is on the Board. NPH never ceases to amaze me

The Jimmy Fallon clip was epic IMO, as a HUG Jimmy Fallon fan as well this made my day

He's in How I Met Your Mother, Saint's Row 2 and he is a Magician.
