So today I had to meet with my guidance counselor to fix an error in me schedule. The line was backed up so I pulled out some cards. A guy noticed and asked if I knew any tricks, boy did he get a surprise. I ended up doing like 10 mins worth of material including Stigmata, Blindsided, Chicago Opener, Pen Through Dollar, STS, ACR, Color Changing Knifes, and some tricks from Oz's "Born to Perform" DVD

It was awesome because when I left people were saying "Thanks for the show" or "You made my day" or "I gotta go tell my friends!"

That is cool. I'm glad to hear someone else out there still doing Color Changing knives! I love those as simple as they are. Found some minature butterfly knives and made myself a set out of those. I have a blast with them.

I love my color changing knives! tbh thats one of my best effects (I have a very Bill Mallone-esque routine I do and I have an idea for another one)

I think my favorite part of doing magic for people on campus is this response "I only know a few tricks, I'm more of an amateur, not a legit one like you"

I think its amazing that people consider me a professional magician when I'm just an amateur myself

Are you in High School or College? Color Changing Knives can get you in LOTS of trouble.

As long as hes not on campus he should be fine, enless he is under age.
Most colleges dont care though- At least all the ones Ive been to.

Should always check local laws and regulations.

Especially Butterflies... as they are illegal to carry in many states.

I'm in college and I'm 19. Don't worry guys I found out the rules, actually I was doing a show for a charity fair on campus and the security guard was watching and LOVED my knife routine. Mine have a secret way of opening so they don't get opened. I would never bring these to a high school for that reason. I'm a complete goody goody when it comes to rules so I make sure first for everything.

That was my issue, was if he was in High School. Very cool that you got to do some performing! Keep it up!

I'm still waiting for those things to get updated a bit. Leathermans are so much more common than knives these days that I'm waiting for the color changing utility tool....Obviously not the Leatherman Super Tool! Hate to break my wrist doing the move. But those little Leatherman Squirts would make a nice, updated, color changing knife set.

Depends on what state youre in. Down here in Texas, just about everyone still wears a knife.

I have a leatherman, two actually, but keep them in my truck. Its too bulky to carry on my belt.

Back on subject, I agree with David on the leatherman thing. No one I know has one of these and also I think a gimmicked one would be a bit more difficult to hide the gimmicked part

Could be my experience in out west where I grew up. I havn't seen a pocket knife in years but everyone has a letherman. As for size....The squirts should work fine. They are about the same size as the little butterfly knives I have. They are a little wider but not much thicker or longer than a standard Morgar set. Biggest problem is you cant do the trick opening. That is one of the funnest parts of the morgar knives and gives the spectator a reason to inspect the knife without overselling the fact that they are inspecting the knife.
