Two weeks ago, my dad brought a little kid that he was babysitting over. She was around 4 and extremely shy. She wouldn't say a word because she didn't know me or my mom. After a couple of minutes, she was trying to play with one of the cats running around, but still wouldn't speak. I picked up a piece of candy from a dish and did a French Drop with it and then reproduced it from her ear. Of course I gave it to her after that and I had a new best friend for the rest of the day. I found out yesterday that she's still talking to everyone about the magic trick.

Never deceive yourself into believing that magic can't affect people.

Agreed, I did a simple classic palm of a beer cap for my cousin when she was about 3 or 4 years old and she always wants to see a new magic trick now when we see each other. Which reminds me, I should brush up on my card skills, she wouldn't understand mentalism...

Kids are so funny. You can show them the most simple tricks and thay are totally blown away but at the same time I have done a few "magician foolers" and they saw right through it. They totally think in a completely different way.

That is why you have to get them early with something real. A vanish of something is perfect. When they are young it seems real and as they grow the memory grows with them until it evolves into something truly magical to reflect upon.
