Although I haven't experimented with EVERY 'impression device'...I've come to LOVE b.Smith's, 'Universal Impression'. My MOST requested performance...it leaves the spectators in disbelief. A staple in my performance!

Depending on your needs in terms of using an impression device, I absolutely love John Rigg's Hornet for pre-show work, just the best out there, and you don't need any refils!

Max.

I just got Universal Impression and I honestly see myself using it quite a bit.

It's a solid, solid effect that works really well. Some people have had some issues with it not working very well, but the fix is very simple and I think the people that aren't having luck with it simply didn't watch the entire DVD to figure out how to fix the issue.

I also have a wallet called the Thought Transmitter by John Cornelius. That's another pretty awesome device, though it's probably not technically an impression device.

Bucky310,
I believe you are mistaken. IMHO, it is a very clever way to innocently get the peek you need.

I got the pdf of how to make a tommy pad, I've never used another impression device but then again this one filled my needs perfectly and was cheap and I can make as many as I want/need..

Do you peek at what they wrote? By 'peek' I mean do you get the information without them knowing? I would consider it a peek device because it allows you to peek at the information without them knowing. It is not a form of a peek, it is a peek device.

I love The Tommy Pad.

My favorite though is The ParaPad.

They write. You close, all is done and resets in a second.

Does Psypher show you how to make the device? And is it better overall than a Tommy Pad?

Also since I'm here is the super sharpie gimmik easy to replace when it runs out?

I'm contemplating purchasing both but I've no interest in them if I'm confined to having to buy replacments once they're used up.

You need to buy a PLF ParaPen kit.

All the tools to make your own in the pen of your choice. The tools enable you to work with a variety of nibs, to re use the sharps and carry in a pen sized tube.

for those who want a cheap and very good alternative, check out "imp pad" on one of Richard osterlind's mind mysteries DVDs.
