We're test-driving a totally crazy new idea.

The background:

1. We want to encourage magicians to go out and perform for REAL people.
2. We want Penguin to be a great resource where magicians can see magic tricks from beginning to end.

Our crazy idea:

Film yourself performing a trick and get the trick for free.

What?!? Seriously?!?

Yes.

What are the rules?

Ok, so there are only a few, but we're still experimenting..

1. You must perform at least 30 days after ordering but less than 60. We want to encourage practicing too! and we don't want to wait 2 years to see your trick

2. You must perform for real people - no crotch shot web-cam videos

3. You have to be 16 years or older.

4. Your video can't reveal the method, and it must get a thumbs up from us at Penguin. While we don't expect you to be a Lance Burton, it has to look good.

5. The product you perform can be up to $100 (on Penguin).

6. We'll be posting it on our site! So we'd love it if you give a shout out to the Penguintown!

It would be great if you chose tricks that don't have demos already, but feel free to perform any trick on the site!

So - that's it for now, but we do reserve the right to change the terms.. it's gonna be pretty crazy to see what happens. We're very stoked.

So wait... we buy a trick and 30-60 days later if you like our video its free? Does that include shipping, tax, and all that jazz?

Yeah, totally

But don't be too worried about us "liking it". We're mainly just trying to protect against videos that inadvertently reveal methods.

Can you only do this once or is there a limit to how many times you can take advantage of this great offer?

This is a really great question. Probably the biggest unanswered one so far.

Let's say YES. But it has to be your favorite trick from the product. And let's say that if there are multiple volumes, there has to be at least one trick from each volume.

Hey now, I have several tattoos and Im not a drug addict. I dont even like taking the ones my doctors prescibes for me.


I get burnt out on live performances, there are just so many half-assed ones out there.
I fear this might bred even more, but I hope not. I truely want to believe this will bring out some (and mostly) good ones. That they will take this more serious, than jsut trying to get the trick for free. You should have some standards.

How do you do it?

Like do we have to pay for it then our money gets refunded or will there be a new option that says Born To Perform trial or somesuch?
