Will anyone, experienced or novice, point me to some good rope magic. I can do a cut and restore, cut and restored times to, and many trick knots very well.
But i am looking for more miraculous rope magic, because I think rope magic is very cool and poetic.

P.S why doesn't Penguin Magic have a Rope Section on there forums.

Get the Extended Version of Fiber Optics, though. It's a great routine, but he also teaches a bunch of other moves that can be added in, along with a Ring and Rope routine. I was going to recommend Tabary or the Sand-sational Ropes, but Fiber Optics is a combination of some of the best parts as well as some new stuff.

I highly recommend Tabary Rope Magic Vol 1 & 2. I cannot comment on the other suggestions, but Tabary packs some really killer material in there. His FISM routine, which was on one of the World's Greatest Magic Specials, is taught and it is excellent. I like the FISM routine because it is modular and can be adjusted readily. I perform it frequently and find it gets great reactions.

Choose Fiber Optics. All the moves in one place, shot on video so there's no mistake in translating from text.

My vote is for Tabary. Here is a video of me performing it a few years ago...

I would have to agree with Lensman exodus and DaveV. That Fiber Optics Extended has some absolutely amazing moves and sequences that just absolutely kill for a lay audience.

Everytime I get together with the relatives for a party or a holiday they always ask me to perform my rope routine because it never fails to amaze them and most of the stuff I do now has a lot more wow to it and yet they still ask me to perform that for them.

Luckily we only get together for parties and holidays and that only happens 2 maybe 3 times a year so even if I do it for them it's pretty much safe to say they can't figure anything out with it.

I love Pavel's effects. After seeing him live, I was in awe...I really hate rope tricks, but his effects are very entertaining and visual and EXTREMELY magical.

I own his Super Walking Knot (18 foot rope is tied between two chairs. You ask a spectator to say stop as you run your finger down the rope, when they say stop, you pull out a pair of scissors and cut the rope in two. Now you tie the rope together. NOW, you grab the knot and move it down the rope...you tell the spectator to say stop again...when they say stop, you untie the knot in that spot and the rope separates right there as if you had cut it in that place to begin with! It can be repeated also)

I also own his "Krazy Knot" which is a long piece of rope that you tie into a knot, then another, then another until you have a HUGE knot jumble in the center of the rope. You hold each end in your hands and pull..when you pull, the pile of knots falls to the floor leaving you holding a small piece of rope.

I also own one other that is a string of knots on a rope that can be untied and they suddenly all reappear again.

GREAT stuff!
