Early early on I did a ton of packet tricks. I got a gig at a restaurant before I maybe should have and bought most of these as they reset easy and were easy to carry around. I still do 3 of them but I have used and tested all of them. I did NOT have the Web at the restaurant nor do I recommend it for that type of work I got it significantly later. You will catch me doing 3 color monte, 4 gone conclusion and 8 card B'wave in a strolling set. I may pull out B'wave from time to time and in special circumstances I will still do The Web.

While I am on the subject I also recommend the book Counts, Cuts Moves and Subtelties. It has a lot of moves used in a lot of packet tricks but broken down better. It's by Mentzer. http://www.penguinmagic.com/specialorde ... hp?ID=4837

"Packet Tricks" by Jerry Mentzer...inexpensive paperback book that deals with gaft and ordinary card packet tricks.
"Focus" by Phil Goldstein (Maven)...an excellent book (Hback) that deals in both gaft and ordinary card packet tricks. A must have book IMHO!
"Packet Tricks" by J.K. Hartman...inexpensive but rare book deals with packet card magic.
"Small But Deadly" by Paul Hallas...the packet trickster history of packet magic. Deals with the history of packet card magic. It has some effects but it deals mainly with the history...nonetheless a very good read. Paul has a new book called "Still Small, Still Deadly" which has come out recently but already hard to find. It is a follow-up to his popular "Small But Deadly" book. It is in paperback.

I have some packet tricks. For some reason to me I like them better than full deck tricks.

I just got "Twisting the Aces." It's pretty cool.

But my favorite two are:
Twisted Sisters by John Bannon
and
Strange Travelers

I also have "10" by Richard Sanders. I like it, but it's not as strong as the other three that I have listed here.

Like I said, I really enjoy packet tricks a lot. Maybe it's because I'm newer to this and they seem to be tricks that are almost self working...but whatever it is, I definitely enjoy them.

Printing on Demand looks astonishing, however I cannot believe that they put with such low quality cards. Yes, I think Michael Skinner's/Penguin monte is a must have packet effect. The I hate David Copperfield trick looks nice and I think a great segue would to go right into Card Warp. For those of you know how both are done you know why this is smart. Nice way to end clean.

I just got a version of "I Hate David Copperfield." It came on another DVD and was a surprise that it was on there, but I love it!!

The only real difference I see is the handling and the patter that go with "IHDC." That can easily be incorporated into the version that I got, however.

I have never seen it sold as a packet trick.

I learned how to do it about 4 years ago and it is one that I do a lot.

You haven't?? The version that I got would almost ONLY come as a packet trick, because it's got two gaffed cards with it.

Maybe it's the same name for two different effects??
