Really, though, it should look easy to do. If your magic looks complicated, there's no real magic happening for them. If it looks easy then it shows that you know what you're doing.

I actually love hearing others say, hey I know a trick. I usually ask to see it, and have a good time enjoying another's take on magic. It's also usually a good lead in to me performing. The crowd is primed, I know who's most into it and who's not, and overall I have a great read of the crowd long before I perform.

sometimes i'll let them do their trick. and then i'll ask if i can try to duplicate it before hand. if they're ok with it. i'll do what to EVERYBODY ELSE looks exactly the same. but i'll put one condition on the effect that would make it impossible to the previous performers repertoire.

ex. Key card principle. i glimpse then riffle shuffle (multiple X) . usually gets a shocked look from the other guy.

I don't like two things really.

1. Getting a bad reaction to a good trick
2. "I know how you did that"

Nothing else really bothers me. I've got no problem with them wanting to do a trick for the same reason Frank doesn't. And them shouting stupid explanations doesn't bother me. Truth be told I actual like when they do that because then I KNOW the secret is safe because they are satisfied with there explanations. :mrgreen:

Well, one of them is the common (yet already explained before) infamous, "I know how you did that!" line.

I would usually reply with, *while handing the spectator the prop* "Enlighten me." (with a 'serious', yet 'ready to see' look on my face).

While it's all fine and good that they don't know the method, they were more focused on the mechanics than the entertainment. I can't help but think that there is some fallacy with my performance when it happens.
