I have Jay's In the Beginning there were Coins and in cards I am learning right-handed, but for coins it feels awkward doing even a classic palm in my right hand, there doesn't seem to be enough flesh and I have to squeeze harder and less naturally than in my left hand. Are there any disadvantages to performing left handing as there's some with cards? Or does it not matter?

The only disadvantages are in your own mind. You're going to have to translate almost all magic books, since they're mostly right handed. That's it. Other than that, there's not much of a difference.

Just mirror what you see... also look into Eric Jones material. He is a coin magician who is left handed

you'll be like a left-handed pitcher.

There are no disadvantages to performing left handed. Only advantages. Such as specs having a harder time copying what they see you do as they will be trying it with their right hands.

with which part do you exactly have a contrary opinion?

And would you please explain your reasons for this disagreement please?

Once again, in advance I would like to thank you for a well thought out, informative and non-provocative post.

I know this the coins section. But Bill Malone is a lefty and I have had no trouble learning and converting his card work to the right hand. His "I don't even have a pocket" ambitious card routine is a great example of doing move from right converted to left handed.

Iam left handed. I have learned from right handed and left handed people all the time. I like being able to do coin or card tricks with my left hand. Most people think everybody is right handed. So if gives me a ege on Misdirection.

Also what he said. Eric Jones is very good to learn from.

What I meant is that it doesn't matter what hand they try to imitate what you do with because they (should) have no idea what you're actually doing.
When people look at your magic they don't think "he's using his right hand now, and now the coin goes to the left hand"

Hmm i guess a disadvantage be if u choose to use TKO, you'd have to adjust/adapt a bit to utilize it.

The only disadvantage is if one cannot perform a particular routine with both hands. Considering that, the disadvantage is minimal.

Like what adamcd said, bill malone is a lefty and its a legend...so no problems there. you just need to have anything like a T*&$% and TKO installed for left handed pitching, etc, etc. certain routines you might need to reverse the positioning of certain things. e.g. having things set up in the left pocket, instead of the right pocket, etc, etc.

bottom line, no disadvantage.
