Case and point. I said that the bar is not situated in a place conducive for conversation if its a dive.

The places I work, have class. Thank you for your comments, even though negative:)

40 some years ago I was in Dallas for a job interview with Frito-Lay company and the department head that I interviewed with took me out for dinner and drinks. Sure enough at a high class place there were 2 fights and in the first one it got stopped when one of the fighters pulled a gun. The other guy just gave up without a shot being fired. I thought if this was high class, I'll stay where I was and turned them down.

Also, there was another flaw in the original posters statement. One does not have to have a certain charm with words. One does not even have to speak in order to make close-up magic work. You can successfully present magic with out ever speaking. I have done this over and over again. I have performed close-up magic to deaf people, and I have performed close-up at parties and clubs where it is a waste to even try to talk. Yet, I can still present it successfully because magic transcends language.
