Ok, so I was visiting a magic shop and I stumbled across the neatest thing: A hot rod set that includes the normal hotrod gimmick and two sticks that are ungimmicked. One is in the starting condition, and the other is in the (depending on your routine) finished condition. I picked it up immediately as I saw potential for use later. My question is this: Does anyone know of any good resources for sleights that can be used to switch the sticks undetected? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Josh

Check out Whit Haydn's "Intricate Web of Distraction."

I think you can find a video performance of it on his site at www.pophaydn.com

Work out a way to use two sticks at a time, switching for the third at the right moment.

What you need is a "Double Color Changing Hot Rod"

it's designed so you can do the trick TWICE (two color changes)....and immediately hand the stick out for examination afterward (both sides will be one solid color) without having to do any switches whatsoever....it has a locking mechanism that is self contained and undetectable.

That's one thing I'm planning on getting eventually, but I'm working on some stick switches for the time being.

I personally would try sort of a tweaked shuttle pass...

You can find it at diff magic shops. Same price as well. I shop at two diff magic shops. If Penguin dont have what I need I allways ask if thay are going to stock back up on them if thay say no them I go to my 2nd shop. I look there and thay have them.

Shuttle Pass for the win! ...And then there is always a reason one can take advantage of for going to a pocket. Also stashing a rod under one's watch band is handy if one doesn't do the routine with the SAME HAND!
