One of the reasons I feel this way is when I was a little kid, my parents had friends over and one "old man" (at least to me he was ancient) showed me his arm and said "see this is a six" he bent his elbow and said "now it's a nine." He entertained me with that for a long time. It was his number tattooed on his are at Auschwitz.

I have enough tatoos on my soul, I would never want any on my body. Nothing says irresponsible than letting a semi-stranger draw on your skin permantly.

I don't consider the tattoo artist who inked me a "semi-stranger", I checked a few tattoo places and asked people with tattoos who they recommend until I decided who will ink me.

But you'll go to a restaurant and eat food prepare by a complete stranger, under circumstances you know nothing about?

Ive gotten several tattoos without a problem.

But I have gotten bad food, even food poisoning by eating out, and yet... I still eat out weekly.
So, under your standards, eating out would be irresponsible.

Heck, I knew a guy that wouldn't hire a magician for his kids birthday, as he believed that all they are just "under the table pedophiles"... and thought it was irresponsible for parents to subject thier kids to those kinds of people... but he is wrong. He was an idiot for thinking that.

David, glad you responded to Hank. I'm still confused on how the heck you can tattoo a "soul." Never seen one yet so that's like saying you have a tattoo on a ghost.

That must have been traumatizing as a young child. I can't even imagine finding out what that meant. A lot of times tattoos have a much deeper meaning though. My mother has a lady bug tattooed for my sister who was miscarried. It's a permanent sign of remembrance of a "good" reason, the particular use of the term meaning the motive behind the tattoo is very pure.
