I find it a lot harder to do street perfromances in winter time.
Not only are my hands cold, but the spectators are cold too and not as interested in watching magic when they are freezing.
Anybody do anything different in winter time?
I hate to just slow down during winter months, but it seems to me what happens.

That's why most full time buskers are road warriors. When the white stuff, no make that when it gets too chilly you hit the road to FL, Now Orleans, NM, AZ, CA, and other warm spots.

You could go to bigger malls and precincts... They often have a big open space with benches...
Some of them even have stages...

Be sure to ask permission if you can find the information... Or why not ask them to pay you?

Because here in the U.S. malls are private property and most will not allow busking because they think it takes money from their tenants. And their right, the food vendors would lose money that people tipped us. Generally, depending on the state (some are tougher) security will tell you to stop once. The second time you're caught you are arrested for trespassing and that can mean a fine (up to $500) and jail (up to 30 days for the first offense.) In order to perform as a paid entertainer at a mall you MUST have liability insurance. But be careful. A Mall in Illinois use to have magicians come in on Saturdays and paid $500 for 3 shows that day. Well some idiot did Mac Kings card to zipper routine. Performances stopped after that one.

Hence why I said "ask permission... or make the pay you "

No it was because Mac King's card to zipper is funny but not family oriented. Copyright protection on our acts is for all intents and purposes non existent. Everybody talks about it but to prove copyright violation of a stand up act is almost impossible with out filmed proof.

Yeah same here, especially here in Miami when its rarely cold for me. Everyone freezes when it barely drops temperatures, lol cause were so used to the heat.
