I've been around magic for years. I often snub tricks that are too cheap. I've also snubbed spongeballs as well. For a long time i've stopped doing spongeballs cause i felt they are a weird unnatural object and didnt fit in my more organic style. However i did a gig at a bar and i did the spongeballs for the first time in over a year. Turns out they are totally awesome for drunk people. Made me go look up what other products/tricks are available out there for spongeballs that i didn't already know about. The Growing Spongeball is what i found.

Growing Spongeball: $4.31
http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=S6320

At under $5 its one my best buys in the last year.

My Review
Not much to say but its very fun to do. Its pretty easy and straight forward. Super visual. The sponge cant really be examined before or after which is a minor negative. But its a lot of fun. Very practical. Most fun i've had with a prop in ages. 5/5

Related Products:
Incrediball Goshman: $7.50

Growing Spongeball Outdone Goshman: $5.63

Tips: Dont follow the instructions. It tells you to push it through your fist like the sponge square (which is also a good trick) but that looks absolutely terrible in my opinion. Use my handling instead (shown in the videos above). Also if you moisten the ball under the tap before hand and squeeze dry it, it will be like 1 inch bigger. See the first video on top vs the 2nd video where the ball was not moistened.

Yes i have. Almost bought it then it sold out (when it was new). Then when it was restocked i lost interest in it. Besides i think growing ball is much better value for money. Might buy those colour changing spongeballs one day. However i saw a product that was similar but i thought was better.

14$ each. Just a bit more than the colour changing spongeballs. And equally unnatural objects. Mabey more unnatural but thats why i like it. Makes my giggle like a school girl.

I'm glad you like it! I've been looking into picking this up for a while (for those of you who don't know spongeballs are one of my all time favorite effects) Also I plan on FINALLY picking up some color changing sponge balls (if they come in 1.5") with my birthday money so I'll tell ya how that goes

Hey, since we are on the subject, I was thinking about ordering some sponge bananas or sponge mushrooms. I thought it would be awesome for kids birthday parties.... and really anyone else lol. Anyone know anything about them and how real they look?
