Hey, since we are on the subject, I was thinking about ordering some sponge bananas or sponge mushrooms. I thought it would be awesome for kids birthday parties.... and really anyone else lol. Anyone know anything about them and how real they look?

I have two sets of sponge banana's and I like the look of them. You need to rinse them out with water to remove excess dye and take out some of the stiffness.

That looks like a sponge to me.

I also have some other sponge bananas, not the same quality, but they are teh BEST thing for a kids show EVER. Seriously! and a giant banana as finale. (about 1.5 feet long, ha)

I wish I had the name of the makers of them though

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you produce this from your mouth for a huge laugh? Didn't the late Chappy Brazil do that? Because if you can, why not buy a regular 5 inch super soft sponge ball and have it in your pocket along with your other 4, 2 inch ones. Then you can do the old endless balls from mouth gag where a ball appears in the mouth, you take it out while loading the next ball, then place the other one in your pocket, then steal it back out, and keep repeating a few times then for a huge kicker, you grab the big 5 incher, and produce that sucker for a finale.

That would be hilarious and a great closer for your sponge ball act. And then you can let a spectator examine it and of course there's nothing to find. Just a thought. :D

No you cant. Well sorta..

To do the giant spongeball from the month you need a large normal spongeball and a regular sized normal one. Pretty much using traditional style sleight of hand techniques (as you have said). In terms of putting the growing spongeball in your mouth (in its small form) then producing it from your mouth in its large form is technically possible but very awkward. i'd advise against it.
