Don't really know if this is the place for this kind of thing but here it goes;

I have a problem weaving the cards together when performing the one handed riffle shuffle, I can cut the deck without any problems but when I have to push the cards together they sorta lift themselves up and applying more pressure sometimes causes to bend a card/cards, not in a good way.

I have 2-3 dvd's explaining the move and they make the weaving part look easy and I can't really figure out why I have such a hard time with it.

I don't know which version of the one handed shuffle you are doing so it is kind of hard to know exactly where you are coming from.
Generally when one is trying to weave the cards together, there is more than just a pressing together of the two packets, there is also a slight sideways movement or 'sliding together' of the packets.

I just realised it is almost impossible to describe in text.

I have the same trouble, its with the one handed farao in Xtreme Beginners. I got it down untill the weave.. there I just push, rub, move, slide, push some more untill either the cards give up or my finger starts to bleed (ok I stop on time dont worry ). I'f tried pushing hard and soft, putting pressure on various area's. I succeeded once, I noticed that as soon as one card started the rest followed.

So any help would be appreciated

Not the smoothest one handed shuffle i have ever done but in my defense, it is rather hard to do slowly and one step at a time

That is not a bad tip...I'll give it a whirl. Personally I have had success by keeping a smooth bevel on the sides and then adding extra pressure on which ever side of the packet hits corner to flat. Thus if you can Imagine, once the deck is spread you have two packets in your hand. One will be controlled primarily by your thumb, the other by your pinky. If the thumb side packet happens to contactthe other packet with its corner pressing into the side of the other packet...use more thumb pressure. If the pinky side packet hits corner to flat then push more with the pinky. If both corners meet. use an even pressure.

as already stated it is hard to explain. I'll try to upload a video as well.

Last tip....use a higher quality deck. A smooth edge will help a lot! Also...figure out which side of the deck your cards like to faro from.

Just thought i would state the obvious.

one handed farao?? bend the cards into a small U (bow) before performing the cut, then release the pressure of the bow when pushing the cards together this is how i do it, they go together more or less perfect this way hope this helps

Practice practice practice.
Thomas Edison went through 1000 ideas before coming up with the lightbulb, and it took him 1000+ tries to get down the one-handed farrow, so just keep practicing. The people you're watching do it have obviously been doing it for long enough that they feel confident teaching it, and they wouldn't have gotten there without practicing it a billion times.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but the majority of the time, practice is the answer.

Broken in cards work better for the one handed shuffle I've found. It's also a shuffle that dings up the sides of your cards a bit so you don't want to be using nice cards that you can't bear to see a stain on.

My biggest problem when first learning was that I was holding them too loosely. That made me lose leverage. The key is to hold the cards tightly with your top 3 fingers. BUT the looseness comes from the pinky on the bottom. Despite having the top of the shuffle tight as 2 bricks, the bottom of the shuffle where you begin the weave is where you take your pinky and pull back slightly. This will give that "loose deck" necessary to weave them together while still maintaining leverage. At least that's how I do it.
