Okay, I just bought some new cups by Uday. I wasn't expecting them to have a magnet involved in one of the cups and balls. Now my routine is off, as I am not always sure which ball is the "sticky" one, and have been practicing and seen the ball sticking to the bottom of a cup (inside and out) so it is throwing me off. Did I screw up royally and buy the wrong set, or is there a workaround without buying new balls, etc. I have discovered some cool things about the magnet, so I may want to add something like that to my routine, but not all the time. Any suggestions? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

What you got is a combo cups and balls set. The set can be used as cups and balls or as a chop cup. There are some nice routines that combine the two to make a great cups and balls routine. Here is one that you should check out a booklet called, "The Mendoza Cups & Balls Routine Plus Sequel", by John F Mendoza.

Thanks for the tip. I'll look into that. By the way, Penguin is handling this beyond my expectations, which is why I do business with them and will continue to tell all my magic friends to.

Well, I understand that a set of cups is quite expensive, but I would recommend getting a set that is not a combo set. I enjoy performing a chop-cup routine, and i enjoying performing a cups and balls routine (not at the same show) but often time with the chop-cup combos not everything can be examined. Which I am big on. Just my two cents.

I'm with BBC on this one. Although they share a similar gaff, I really don't consider a Chop Cup and the gaffed cup of a Combo set to be one and the same.

Each has it's own purpose and the routines are quite different.
