So my bdays is on its way and i've asked for cash to buy mentalism stuff with. Now I'm thinking I want psychological subtlties and maybe psypher (if it still comes with peek wallet.)

So I'm after recommendations, I want ideas, something that can inspire me, I want to create variety in my act and possible ideas for anything that can be done impromptue. Mainly books dvds don't offer enough content imo.

Reality is Plastic e-book.

For about $40 you can learn every nuance of impromptu hypnosis, and add to your mentalism routines. It will fit right in.

As you venture into Mentalism you will find that when you buy tricks your not exactly buying tricks, your most likely buying methods and with methods you can create new effects that the method wasn't designed for, any method can be inspiring, you just need to open up your mind and take it somewhere.

Akirafist, I must admit I've considered learning hypnosis for while, certainly I can see how it would fit into a psycholigical mentalism act. Though I'm not sure I'm ready for it right now. I'm contemplating mind mythe and magick for its shear size and theatre of the mind was recommended to me before.

Mental_illusionist, I'm already pretty much there mate, I generally like to take the bare bones of an affect I've bought and transform it with presentation into somethings more or less my own. I'm just after fresh carcasses to pick at.

I didn;t order it in the end. I decided to just stick with my tommy pad. If it aint broke don't fix it.

So I went with Pschological subtlties, mind myth and magik and theatre of the mind. I think that should give me enough to play with for a good while.

It's very good. I'm looking through it now for the first time.

I'm reading psi1 and Theatre of mind in tandem. Psi1 is really what I'm after, just a book of random ideas and things to make effects more powerful and direct. Lots of theory, I love reading performance theory.

Theatre of the minds first chapter is easily worth it's price. Just the conjuring tricks are great. I don't think I'll ever be able to take my jacket off again without producing a full glass of water in the process.

Also I love the fact the effects come with full presentations highlighting moments of mis direction, that's something sorely absent in 13 steps and pmm. I may not use the presentations as written but I'll certainly make mine follow the same rythm.
