I highly doubt that you can. Looking at the video, it is possible that he found a way that I'm unfamiliar with (I know how I would vanish like that on a stage, but the methods I'm thinking of simply wouldn't work in that field). However, there are some very key pieces to this video that suggests that he wouldn't be doing this unless it was on camera. The first being the distance in which he is filming from. The second is that we never see him walking over to the spot, or even the area in which he is performing. It is intentionally kept hidden.

Those two factors, as well as using some logic (as to where one can go about vanishing), I have to saw that this particular video is simply camera magic. I doubt you will find anyone selling this illusion or teaching it.

The only thing that throws me off is the car that drives pass in the background... its too smooth to have been edited. Trap door maybe?

It's not edited, but it's clear there is only one place he could have went. Don't make the mistake of thinking that you can actually vanish anytime anywhere with spectators right next to you. Remember... it's Criss Angel we're talking about.

Look at the green square that matches the grass to the right of the cloth after the vanish it is eather a green box to get behind or a green square added digitally after the fact. I caught this the first time I saw it.

I find the best illusions are always done from a quarter mile away. That's how I do my classic pass.

I know that, but awe124 is under the impression that the guy in the video is using the same method Criss uses. He thinks this is THE "Criss Angel" self vanish that the wanna-be's video title tries to pass it off as.

it is edited, but simply only part of what you see is, he just used adobe after effects to edit out himself, the car passed by when he was taping the blanket on the ground without himself in the frame and he simply left it in to give the effect that there were no camera tricks. heres a link to show how he did it

I know how it was done. I have been doing this for years. You can do it just by doing MAGIC.

One of those things you can do only on T.V. or youtube.

No. There's a simpler, less expensive way to do it, that would genuinely create the illusion that he'd vanished. Adobe after effects costs costs hundreds of dollars. To do it without this program, all you'd need is a 15 dollar mirror from Wal-mart to hide behind.

I would say that it is impossible to perform in front of live audience since this whole trick requires an initial setup to be made and it only looks clean from a particular angle i.e through the eye of a camera.

step 1: buy camera
step 2: buy sony vegas
step 3: get a friend to hold up a sheet
step 4: run behind sheet and out the other side off camera
step 5: have friend drop sheet
step 6: remove the part of the video that shows you running from behind the sheet

That's how criss angel does it, your welcome.

In his defense, Statue of Liberty vanish. Yes, it's a camera trick, but at least he does it the hard way, as in without editing or CGI.
