Hello everybody! I recently came back to magic after a 5 year hiatus. I usually work with card manipulation magic, but I am interested in tricks to perform for kids. I have a lot of nieces and nephews I want to entertain during family gatherings. After many tries, I learned NEVER to perform card tricks on kids and now I am looking for some tricks to add to my repertoire that are kid friendly...

Anybody have a list of tricks I can find on Penguin? Specifically, I am looking for tricks that do not involve large props or out of the ordinary objects, but are visual and can keep the attention of bunch of rowdy kids, such as self tie-ing shoelaces, Slydini silks, the Raven, or the haunted dollar bill. These are some that I currently own (that can be modified for a kid routine) and would like to add a few more

Thanks!

Hugo

Excellent choice! Sponge balls didn't dawn on me for some reason, but they are a natural choice for kids magic

MOAR suggestions please!

kids LOVE colourful magic so I do a lot of silk magic effects. Also don't forget the old Thum b Tip. When used right you can do a good 15 minutes with that.

I love Greg's stuff. His material is always entertaining on so many levels (mostly because his patter style is like mine), but his prices aren't so friendly. I'll eventually pick up his stuff, but I think I'll go with the Jay videos...

In regards to Jay's Self Tying Shoelace, which I bought years ago without a gimmick and the new one suggests there is one, is the gimmick worth buying the trick again?
