I was just wondering what other types of cards are out there that can be used for card effects. The obviouse ones are tarrot cards, esp cards and business cards. Any other suggestions, anything that might put an interesting twist on an affect? Obviously they don't need an air cushioned finish, which would allow the smoothest execution of the fiddliest slights, just something I can do the basics with.

I used to (not anymore) do a torn and restored train ticket. I'm guessing lots of things could be done with train tickets.

Actually that's pretty good. I used to practice 3 card monte moves with my train tickets when i was commuting and forgot to pack a deck.

It occured to me that for story style tricks you could use cards from speciality card games (assuming you want to by them they can be pretty pricey) such as Magic the gathering. I don't have any great examples of what could be done but it's an option.

There's nothing wrong with normal cards lol but the same effect performed with a different type of card could open up new and interesting presentations just like out of this world with photographes. I'm just on the look out for inspiration.
