For instance: I'll turn the thrown cards around, so they face opposite the deck, and go through the deck until they're all flipped (for practice). I tend to notice that the first many cards all land together/in a row.
Is that just freakish consistency, or is that proof of some method I could exploit to get better catches?
Sorry this is a month late...somehow I just missed your post. If you want some great teaching on catching a card in a fan get Chris Weihl's "Fanblade" It is a free download and he has one of the best "hints" on how to make this move consistent. I'm now catching two cards thrown together in a fan pretty consistently.
