Hey guys. I was just curious about what you guys like to keep in your wallet or pocket, you know, the things that you pull out when someone says "Do something!". These are also the tricks you would bring to a paid gig, meaning they have to pack flat, and hit HARD. I personally always carry around Flash by Chad Long, Stand Up Monte by Garrett Thomas, and Powerball 60 by Richard Sanders in my Hip Pocket Mullica Wallet. All super strong and super awesome.

Flash is a personal favorite of mine as well. Just makes a lot more sense to a modern audience than color changing knives.

In addition i have a mini sharpie, ring and haunted key on my key chain for various effects.

I also have a peak envelope, stand up monte, powerball 60, my own version of kolossal killer, set of marked esp cards, T2P and some original tricks.


I've been working towards creating a FULL 30 min closeup show with just stuff from my pockets/wallets and i can do it now. It took me close to 3 years to find a practical solution (ie portability, strength of effect, natural-ness of prop). Not everything i use is mentioned here.

More of these props are ending up in cell phone holsters to free up pocket space. Added foam helps items to fit snug and the cover flap may be removed for EZ'r retrieval. I can't say enough about them. They are cheap, available for $10 or less. Many of the flaps on them secure by flat magnets which work as a card holdout or may be removed and used for other magical purposes.

I actually don't have that much on me. I'm working on it. so far, I've got:

normal wallet (maybe triple threat down the track)
stack of business cards to do a drawing transpo with it (david penn's handling)
another stack of business cards to do Psionic (palter)
T2P pictures (farquhar)
some rubber bands to do CMH and to do some routines from Banding around (Leads)

I sure am...Just got it two days ago but I did my first performance of VIP today. Went well. I did it to my favorite test subject(the kind of person you perform so much for that even though they are technically a lay person they start to pick stuff out). Anyways, she was impressed but then said, "Would it always be the same person?" Without skipping a beat I repeated it with VIP 2 and revealed the state of Louisiana!

Anyways, the quality of the gimmicks are fantastic. They really look nice!

@eostresh @soowee- Have fun with the tricks. I keep them in my wallet cause its soooooooooo practical just to have on you at anytime. You can even do it on stage at any given time with some borrowed markers and paper.

@eostresh- sounds like my package has reached you in Korea with no problems. Curious about how you revealed the state of Louisiana using VIP2, i have 90% of an idea but this is something you've appeared to have added to my original handling. I think your using Banachek's letter in a word kinda idea?

I really don't carry anything consistently with me 24/7, however I will be making an exception with Extreme Burn 2.0! Other than that I switch out things pretty often.

My philosophy many years ago was that everything I carry on me day to day should be a potential magic effect. If that means carrying a gimmicked version of it then so be it. Over the years those items have grown to where everything I carry is either a gimmick or something I use in an effect.

3-lighter(no I don't smoke but I grew up outdoorsey)
4- knife (see above)

I don't live and work as rural as I used to so I swapped the knives with jump drives(Flash) but basically everything still fits. So my recommendation is compile a list of items you carry with you day to day and go brows magic retailers. There is likely a gaff or trick using any one of those gimmicks.

A few years ago, if you had found me anywhere, I would have had a deck of cards, some duplicate cards, card to wallet, Nailed! and a few balloons for Pressure.

Nowadays, I don't carry anything around with me except for a few coins (and Holy Moly, if I think I'm going to do something specifically). Some days I don't bring anything; I find it helps me more than having things prepared to have to work with what I see.
