Banks will not have these as a regular item but you can take some time a visit a few to see if they happen to have any in their drawer that day. They will not charge you any extra for them.

Craigslist can be a good source as well as coin shows and coin shops. With these you will likely pay a premium especially if you want the silver ones, pre-1965. Halves minted from 1965-1970 are considered 40% silver.

There are online coin retailers and ads on eBay but there will be extra $ required for shipping.

Most "national" bank chains keep these in rolls......50 cents each coin....no extra charge for typical Kennedy halves......same w/ Ike dollars....

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss? ... ar&x=0&y=0 on the pricey side, but I use older half dollars because I find they're better quality and easier to manipulate.

Just search ebay or Amazon or any site of the sort.
