Hi all,

Anyone have an idea where I can get a mini roulette wheel for one of the routines on the Confab-shoe-lation dvd?

Thx,

-Ari

Has anyone else here had any trouble finding a good shoe for confabshoelation? I live in Midwest United States and I can't find a good one anywhere.

I had to return 2 pairs until I got one the shoe maker said he could work with. He made the gimmick for me and it's pretty cool. Sometimes I just chill in my room and practice it :))

I finally got the right shoe at DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) The cheapest shoe they had that worked was like $60. I know....The cheap shoes won't work.

What you need is a shoe with real stitching (some have fake stitching that looks real), you need it to have a leather bottom/sole and something called "good year welt" I believe. That is what my shoe maker called it.

I would recommend finding a good shoe and having it gimmicked. Once you have done that it is a cool idea and load and is really a fun routine to do.

Hope that helped,

-Ari

Could you link me to an example of one that will work? I've also returned two pairs of shoes and I think the cobbler will kill me if I come in with the wrong thing one more time... :(

Hi Joshua,

I can't at the moment but let me see if I can help you. I will see if I can find a link of something. It be kind of hard because you really need to have the shoe in front of you to know if it will work. I suggest going to your local shoe store (s) and ask about the 3 criteria I wrote in the other message. Ask an employee for someone who really knows shoes...then say you need one with real stitching, a leather bottom so he can cut a good hole and "good year welt". I have to run now, will see what I can do later.

I know it's frustrating but you will find the right shoe eventually and love it!

Talk to ya later,

-Ari :)

Hey Joshua,

Ari here again. Another thing you may want to try (you may have already) is bring your computer to your shoe maker and have him watch the dvd instruction on the type of shoe and how the shoe maker should construct the shoe (gimmick). Once I showed my shoe maker the dvd instructions on how to make the show gimmick my shoe maker was able to tell me what kind of shoe I must get for him to make the shoe gimmick.

Let me know if this helped at all...?

Let me know if I can help in any other way. I know it is a pain, but once you get the shoe made it will feel worth it (all the running around, etc...)

-Ari :)

Yea, I did that. He sent me to a place to get them they weren't the right kind... Oh well. I'll see what I can do about getting some decent ones in the next couple days.

Hows the shoe search coming? I hope you were able to find a shoe suitable to be gimmicked :)

If not, keep searching!
