Anyone else getting loading lag for any page in the shop? Every time I try and view a page, next page, or the main page it takes 8-10 seconds for everything to load before I can move my cursor. Then it plays catch up once the page loads. I don't get this on any other shop site, and I have a 15 MB cable connection. I think it might be because of all of those embedded videos, and makes shopping slow and a hassle.

I've notice my browser lags when i multitab on penguin magic. But it only occurs on this website. Multitabbing doesnt lag otherwize. Using firefox.

for me its not the home page. Its when i have multiple pages open of the penguin magic site.

Yeah that is the issue, the page is too long and too many embedded videos. And I even have high speed 20MB cable as I said. It just sucks to wait 8-10 seconds per click. No other site does this, I even ran a test with a page that has thousands of high resolution photos and had no issues.

Brad, can you fill me in a little on your computer? CPU / RAM / Web Browser?

I ask because I'm genuinely surprised to hear you wait that long. I want to make the site faster, but I was thinking you were having to wait like, 1 or 2 seconds. When I click around the site it's almost instant.

For it to be that slow, I'm wondering if there's a browser compatibility issue (which I also want to fix).

It may be my browser or computer as it is slightly older for gaming purposes, but oddly enough I just checked and the lag is not there now, maybe 1 second or two. The slowest time usually from the main page to another link. I have a new PC but none of my old games worked on it so I stuck with this one and reverted back to XP. I don't have the lag on other servers though. Have 2.0 GHz dual processors on this one and 2 GB of RAM. But that should be plenty to run a page as I had no issues elsewhere.

I think I have IE 8, I have not updated in awhile being I like to keep this machine clean for gaming. So not sure if you changed anything or maybe the servers were flooded after the site went back up, and used up a lot of bandwidth and got delays because of that? Not sure but right I am not getting the 8 second delay. That was pretty frustrating trying to order 25 DVDS and some effects the other day lol. But I got it done.

Firefox
i7 920 processor
Windows 7
4gig ddr 3 ram
plenty of HDD space
Internet connection of about 8-20 mbit (its a range)

I remember in the past the homepage took forever to load, but that was down to there being too much Flash content. Maybe a good dozen or so videos all trying to load at once. The page is fine now, and takes around 6 or 7 seconds for all the assets to load in for me.

Well so far for me everything loads instantly now. Must have just been those few days. But I thought it was all the videos also. But with 20MB cable there should be no delay. Now there isn't. Hope it stays that way.

Same here. I have a lot fewer "Browsing Issues"

The pages load MUCH quicker than they did a couple of years ago. Makes shopping more fun!
