or possibly 30 tricks and 370 variations.

ie paperclipped, or paperclipped with a rubber band, or paperclipped with a caribinar....

then again, joshua jay is usually quite reliable. So I am hoping that he made a good set.

Yeah I would think with Andi Gladwin and Joshua Jay putting both their names and their company's name on the product, never mind the fact that they have invested four years in this project as well, that they would be pretty good quality. I'm excited to see them personally.

Do I even have to post here for people to know how I feel about it?

I've been excited for the project since I heard about it two years ago. If there is ANYONE who is qualified to sift through the bad and pick out the bits of good, it's Joshua Jay and Andi Gladwin. To test this, I found several of my favorite routines from old sets of lecture notes, out of print effects and VHS tapes and asked Andi if the effects were going to be in the book... Even the MOST obscure good effects that I hoped no one else would ever know about are going in.

This set is going to be good. There are several unreleased effects (one was published in the June issue of Magic Magazine called Madeline's Envelope) which are going to be great. I'm really excited to get my hands on a copy.

PS: This is an EXPENSIVE month, magic-wise! $150 for Definitive Sankey, $100 for EMC, etc...

I have a lot of Sankey stuff, most of which I've tossed into the trash (or given away). The tricks are cute. But that's it - just cute. One trick is exactly like the next trick, sans a very minor difference.

His old stuff (Paperclipped, In a Flash, Nailed, etc) was AMAZING ... not just cute.

I'm just curious how much in this collection is workable for real world.

Guys, this is all great stuff culled from all of his material. It's new and old stuff. An excellent collection. I know it's popular to Sankey-bash right now. But don't forget that he's been creating magic for over 30 years and has LOADS of great material. Stuff you might know but don't realize that Sankey created it.

The other problem with some of Sankey's stuff is it's impossibly technical. If I'm going to work as hard as it's required to be good with some of his stuff I want some SERIOUS bang for my dollar and work with the audience. I agree with Akirafist, his old stuff was better too. I used to do airtight (haven't done it in a while). I love his mister clean coins across BUT it is REALLY difficult to do well.
