Look man, your presintation of this mentalism effect should come off as sort of spell-ish or witchcraft-ish. Both of those subjects are "Chick Cracks", meaning that girls are interested in them by nature. My advice, Learn the game and do it the right way!

Using Mentalism to impress a girl works great. I wouldn't do it right of the bat as it would probably make you look weird (probably).

Like already said, coldreading and hotreading (like telling thair day of birth or meaning of their name) because every girl likes to talk about themselves.
But the Mentalism shouldn't be a centre of attention. If it is something you do, it should be common to you and thus easy added to something.

Although, after a while when you can take her sepperate from the social group she is in, you can start to build up.

It has never worked for me if it becomes 'useless' like reading a number from her mind or word.... It just looks like a showoff..

BTW, I've been a PUA for... *thinking*...5 1/5 year now.. darn that's long. I don't use the skills i've learned to just 'pick up' girls, but to stear social groups in my favor. IMHO there is place for mentalism in the PUA world but no place for mental magic

Who says you can't show your charm and personality through Mentalism? Your meant to show your charm as a mentalist, a mentalist without charm is boring and dull (Search Youtube). Be human, you don't just go up and perform a trick to them and that's it, you still gotta interact with them like any of your friends. Be causal, don't use some unnatural prop like esp cards, playing cards, some prop box, etc.

Exactly the opposite has happened to me. Introduced myself to the girl; had a yarn (keep myself a tad mysterious); did some mentalism; got her number (acquired it in a subtle manner not direct); I then left the bar with my friends; she called the next day and we hooked up.

This doesn't happen all the time of course.
