Now, I know this teaches the sleights and has gotten some good reviews, but I'm curious on one major fact;

Does this DVD teach you how to get cards into the proper positions? Like from a new deck of cards and/or shuffled? How to spot the cards and get them into place, or does it just teach the mechanics?

Thank you for your time

You are going to learn mechanics mostly. For the most part the sleights and demonstrations can be performed from a shuffled or brand new deck. If you are looking for ways to set up the deck discretley I would take a look at culling. Kostya Kimlat has some work on this that might help out.

Some of his newer downloads (not sure if they have been compiled into a DVD yet) cover some of that. Riffle stacking will cover how to put a hand of cards in a particular order. The Table Faro will essentially teach a faro shuffle that looks like a dealers tabled shuffle. He doesn't much get into the weeds about stacks that can be shuffled into new deck order but the technique certainly can be used for any Faro shuffle problem.
