Hey all! If you've ever seen a video from L&L Publishing I'm sure you've seen the happy guy on the front row named David. He's got dark skin and a big smile and is almost always on the front row of most of L&L's videos. Does anybody know who he is? I'm curious about how he got that gig haha is he a magician? Is he in management for L&L? Does anyone know him? I think he's got the best gig in magic, professional magic fan :)

Yeah, I know the guy you're talking about. I have a bunch of Richard Osterlind DVD's, and I think David is on nearly all of them except "Without a Net," which does not use an L&L studio audience. L&L audiences have been criticized for overreacting and even shilling, but apparently they are just folk who live in the area and enjoy magic.

On another L&L note, has anybody else noticed how many L&L videos appear to be pirated? I say "appear," but come on, all these suspect sellers ship from Asian countries, have multiple copies available, and start at something like ten cents on the dollar for a "new" product. When you see a "brand new" copy of an Osterlind series that retails $100+ starting at $14.99 including shipping you know something's up. eBay has a Verified Owenership Rights program where they will shut down auctions of pirated goods, but the copyright owner has to file a complaint. Come on L&L, defend your property!

CLASSIC magic video moments indeed! Watch the Bill Malone routines with David, they are hilarious! I believe the performances are on YT.

I think most of the participant are actually employees of L&L Publishing. Someone posted something akin to his several years ago, having actually gone to L&L while in the area!!

L&L is a fantastic company, I've been buying from them for around 18 years. Here's my problem with them right now, and it's a HUGE bonus for any newbies who have never done business with them before. Over the last month or so L&L has been releasing their 3-DVD sets for only $35!!!!! Every day it's another set or two, yesterday it was the Steve Draun set, the day before that it was the Mark Leveridge and Joshua Jay sets. I'm telling you guys, I paid hundreds and hundreds of dollars for these sets. I don't know what's up with L&L, and it really irritates me to know they're selling these dvds for one-third of the retail price.

You can watch your favorite dealer to find out which sets are coming out, or go to the wholesaler like Murphy's. I've only glanced at the L&L website and don't see the deals promoted there so it may be just a dealer thing.

Lastly, get on L&Ls e-mail list, they're constantly having great deals. A couple months ago I got that $280 set of Dai Vernon dvds for $80!!! The amount of information imparted by Vernon is monumental...I had to constantly pause just to consider the implications of what I'd just heard and witnessed.
