Google 'kevlar thread' and you'll get it a whole lot cheaper.

Location: Continuously practicing, even as I type.
Vectra is really darn strong and invisible, though I like Kevlar for most situations (because of the price, mainly). Kevlar isn't that strong but is HIGHLY invisible and works for most things.

My favorite, though, is ITR-K6. It's made by Sorcery Manufacturing and is the strongest I've ever used. If you're careful with lighting, it's GREAT.

All the best,
-Chris

Wow, you guys are listing threads I had no idea existed. I had only ever heard of regular IT, Elastic IT, and kevlar. I will definately check out your sources.

There have been times when I couldn't afford IT from the magic shop. Paul Harris gave me a source that's I've used during these desperate times: UN-waxed dental floss. I pull out about 3 - 4 feet and tape one end to to the kitchen table, then un-twist it. Once you get the big string un-twisted seperate out one of the individual strands.

Next comes a secret magicians have done a pretty good job of keeping quiet, it makes the thread super hard to see in a performance, and can't be done with any other types of invisible thread. Take a black Sharpie and _dash_ the thread. Meaning about every three inches or so dye the next three inches black. Do this with the entire line.

After that apply your wax pellets or whatever you do to handle your invisible thread.
