Im a college student working at an Italian restaurant in the summertime where I make Pizzas. I hadn't performed any magic in a few years. Work was slow so I decided to wow some co workers with some basic coin magic. I still had it, they were blown away! They quickly told my boss who wanted to see what the fuss was about. I entertained her and a few more coworkers and they told me I should come out to the bar area and show the bartenders...Little did I know I would be performing for 25 bar customers. I did a 10-15 min bit with people surrounding me. I borrowed coins, and did everything totally impromptu and on the fly. It just so happens the general manager of the restaurant I work at saw me performing at the bar. Everyone was blown away and shocked at the sleight of hand.

Needless to say....Im back at it!

Welcome back to the world of entertainment!

It's pretty unique that your comeback was due to Coin Magic, especially since most magicians are intimidated by the sleights to even start off on Non-Gimmicked Coin Tricks.

I hope you enjoy everything new that has happened since you left.

Welcome back, as the others have said!

That's one of the coolest ways I've heard of getting back into it I've heard.

All the best,
-Chris

I just had a pretty similar experience. I too am a grad student and have had no time for the past few years to do anything. I was at a poker party, and started messing with a deck before the game started--I was unaware I was doing anything...old habits die hard i guess. Needless to say, I spent the next 15-30 minutes doing an impromptu show. Man I missed it. Welcome back!

Thanks everyone. Its definitely hard to find time in college to practice but im going to try and find time to practice more this semester. A lot of what I did was coin magic that I learned in the past from In The Beginning There Were Coins. Very visual coin magic!

I start my freshman year of college soon. I move in Thursday.
I purposely stayed close to my home so that I can continue performing children's magic shows. Wish me luck in trying to balance everything (especially a social life)! Any tips from those who performed throughout college would be appreciated.

Thank you, Drew
