Have you ever noticed the ratio of replies to views?.....seems lots of people view/read the topics, but only a small precentage contribute replies.

actually many times people who already made replies, like to check up and follow up on the topic they replied to, which would explain the number of views

That would account for some of it but take this topic for example...already 9 views, only 2 replies now!

another was from me seeing it, another from after i replied, another when you checked back, another from when you replied and another now from when i checked it, and another from when i replied.

that totals 7... i dont think it is as many as you think. not sure though... penguin has many lurkers

actually its true because i remember when i first came to penguin, i never posted i only read topics.

so i bet a lot of people u havent even heard of are busy reading all these topics but just choose not to post

I used 2 do that but now I tend 2 answer nearly all posts that I veiw, this 1 I just couldnt ressist.

If 3 people have given a good response in which I agree with, I usually won't post, but check back every once in a while. But I have noticed it is a very low ratio.
