Hey guys, I am in the market for a webcam. What advice do, you guys who have them, have for purchasing one? What should I watch out for? What should I stay away from? are the cheap ones just that?

Thanks for any tips on this.

Brian

I have a LogiTech QuickCam Messenger. I purchased it for $50... PLUS it came with a $10 rebate.

I simply love this camera- It comes with the software to take pictures, and record 30 FPS 'movies' (no time limit as far as I can tell). You can use it on the internet chat... Its great!

Adjustable resolution, nice compresser- I highly recommend this WebCam. I can gurantee you will not be disappointed.

OK, I started by borrowing a relative's Logitech ClickSmart 310 Camera. It takes decent photos and takes OK video. I used that over the summer and it suited my needs fine. By Christmas (no joke) I decided I better give back the camera lol so I asked for one for Christmas. I got the Quickcam Messenger and installed it onto my computer. I tried it for like a day and the quality just wasn't what I expected it to be. It was very grainy and the colors weren't very crisp. So I returned it. I then picked up a Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000. It wasn't cheap ($80, I got it at Circuit City, they had a rebate, try there) but the quality is sooooooooo much better. If you want to see the quality sign up at www.sleightgeek.com and check out some of my videos.

So yesterday I was at the mall and I had like $80 dollars to spend (mall certificates) so I got the New Jersey Devils Stanley Cup video from last year and a Logitech digital camera (lol, it never ends). It is a Logitech Pocket Digital Camera. It is 007 style (totally). Its silver, sleek and fits in my wallet! 9 mm thick and is about the size of a credit card. I posted a pic of it in the Question game thread on page 275 or 276 I believe. I use it for ebay pictures. So tonight I unistalled my relative's camera and it is going back to my relative tomorrow. The pocket digital camera has good quality for outdoor and shots with lots of light(it doesn't take video, just wanted to share this with you). That is my camera story. The end...lol.
